New Season

How To Embrace A Fall Season In Life

I Love Fall! I mean, I really love fall. I get so excited when the first cool morning arrives in August or September. I pull out all my fall decor and redecorate the house. I go buy the big pumpkins and the colorful mums. I make the soup and chili. Oh and I am a big pumpkin spice girl. I love all things pumpkin spice. Iced expresso with pumpkin cold foam is my love language.

I think my love for fall is because I was born in October and my mom used to make me pumpkin ice cream pie for my birthday. So fall and pumpkin bring me back to fun memories of birthdays growing up. Plus, I love the colorful leaves and cooler weather.

But as much as I love Fall, I don’t love when I go through a fall season of life. When things are transitioning, I have to let go, and slow down. I love spring and summer seasons of life, when things are new, busy, and blooming. When I can work hard and see the fruit of that work.

I am currently in a fall season of life personally and professional. I have been transitioning from CFO, and my 20+ career in Accounting, to Coach/Entrepreneur. I have been recovering from severe burnout and realizing I need to slow down. I have had to let go of my prior identity, ideas, and way of doing things.

God has been speaking to me about embracing this Fall Season of my life.

How to Embrace A Fall Season of Life

  • Remember that change can be beautiful
  • Letting go of the old creates space for new things
  • Don’t hold on, but allow the wind (God) to take you to new places
  • Turn over a new leaf
  • Slow down and savor
  • Be grateful and generous
  • Spend more time with friends and family

What season do you find yourself in my friend? Are you also in a fall season of life?

If so I encourage you to reflect on the gifts of this season, embrace the slowness, and enjoy some pumpkin spice treats. 🙂

May You Prosper Always,

Jennifer
